LIST
What Is List?
List is a Linux/Unix port of an old MS-DOS text file viewer of the same name (LIST.COM). This Linux version is ncurses-based, and aims to have as many of the features of the original as possible, and perhaps a few more may be added along the way.
I wrote list mainly because it was one of the few DOS programs that I've always missed since switching to Linux. A quick search of google seems to suggest that the original DOS version never made the jump from BBSs to the Internet.
Development Status
List is still in development, although the main file viewing fuctions are fully implemented, and in many cases, it can be used as a functional replacement for 'more' or 'less'.
Downloads
The current version of list is 0.12. The gzipped source tarball may be downloaded here.
Note that this is still alpha-level software. Please let me know how it works for you (or if it doesn't).
Contact/Bug Reports
If/when you find bugs, please report them to me, Andy Turnquist at anya@turnquist.name. Bug fixes and patches are also welcome, as are reports of systems the program works on.
